Aventum advised Oy Sisu Auto Ab on financing and expansion of the ownership base in the company
Sisu Auto, a pioneer in the Nordic market in the development of heavy duty transport vehicles for both military and civilian use, expanded its ownership base as Tesi (Finnish industry Investment) became an minority owner and retained 19.9% ownership in the company. The investment strengthened growth financing base of the company to start mass production of protected military vehicles for demanding conditions.
Sisu Auto, founded in 1931, is one of the significant players in the domestic engineering industry, which for almost a hundred years has been producing a wide variety of transport vehicles known to the whole nation under the SISU brand for both civilian and military use. The company’s production has during its history included trucks, military vehicles, buses, material handling machines, rail equipment and various components for transport industry.
Since the middle of the last decade, the weakened security atmosphere in Europe and the subsequent re-evaluation of Defence Forces’ combat style led to a strong increase in the demand for protected military vehicles. Responding to this market need, Sisu Auto decided to focus its resources on military vehicle development and production. SISU GTP product family is the newest addition to Sisu’s military vehicle product portfolio, which has received excellent feedback, and has now been put into series production.
Aventum acted as adviser to Sisu Auto on securing financing needed for series production and increasing Sisu Auto’s potential to untap the clear market demand for military vehicles.
